The age old debate: "men are turned off by strong women." Agree or disagree?
Are men intimidated by strong, independent women?
— A PERSPECTIVE
“Look, he’s intimated because you’re a successful independent woman.”
How many times have you heard this line quoted to you by that well-meaning friend?
I feel like I could write a whole book about my personal experiences with the males that have graced my life and how these meetings have impacted me.
But for now lets zone in on the specific topic at hand and unpack why successful driven women worldwide are still bewildered by how the male species react to our drive for success.
Here’s my take.
Real men (the kind we might decide to shack up with) aren’t intimated by you.
They’re inspired and find you incredibly attractive.
If a man is acting out over your success, he’s probably not where he wants to be in life at this particular moment in time.
OR
He’s a jealous raging narcissist.
OR
He suffers from low self-esteem.
Either way, none of this is about You.
Your success has triggered a pain point deep within him and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it, except for walk away.
High-value successful men with sound morals, ethics and healthy self-esteem aren’t intimated by strong, successful women.
But it doesn’t necessarily mean they will choose to partner with their female counterpart.
Why?
I put it down to this.
It comes back to polarity and the masculine versus feminine.
Let’s be honest, we want a masculine man.
And in turn, men are drawn to feminine women.
I don’t believe for a second that quality men are turned off by smart successful independent women.
I believe they are turned off by women who act from their masculine.
And I’m not for a second suggesting we should change who we are to accomodate a man’s ego but to put this long debated topic to bed - No, I don’t believe men are intimidated.
I believe that success finds its own level and there are just not that many humans playing at the top end.
